La columna del pasado lunes 24 de junio, que se nos viene encima la semana. Está publicada en la contraportada del DIARIO DE NOTICIAS. Y genéricamente este espacio semanal lleva el nombre de "Milenio". Aquí el enlace.
Hace 50 años la NASA estaba a punto de hacer que unos astronautas pisaran la Luna, con el éxito de las misiones Apolo. El 20 de julio sería el día del pequeño paso para Armstrong y el gran salto para la humanidad. Pero faltaban otros saltos: aunque científicas como Margaret Hamilton fueron fundamentales para llegar a la Luna se les dejó en el segundo plano y el anonimato de una sociedad abiertamente machista. Parte del personal de la NASA era afroamericano y también sufrían una discriminación por el hecho de vivir en un sistema segregacionista de facto. Habría lesbianas, gays, trans, bisexuales, personas de género no conforme... pero en aquella época (incluso ahora) no podían visibilizarse sin tener que sufrir consecuencias. Por ejemplo, y esto también pasaba ese mismo comienzo de verano de 1969, la Policía podía entrar en un bar de Nueva York y abusar de su posición contra la clientela (en España, en esos tiempos, claro, una dictadura hacía que ni siquiera la ilusión de una democracia como la estadounidense fuera posible: nacionalcatolicismo y desarrollismo travestido de democracia orgánica y abusos policiales y militares, todo con el amparo de las leyes franquistas).
Pero volvamos a Nueva York. El 28 de junio, en el club Stonewall unas cuantas personas, transexuales y drag queens como Marsha P. Johnson, que además era negra, contestaron el acoso a golpes y con canciones y gritos. Un no pasarán que comenzó a cambiar el mundo, un pequeño bolsazo para una drag pero desde luego un gran salto para la humanidad. Lo que pasa es que si a la Luna se volvió rápidamente, los derechos LGTBIQ se han tenido que ir obteniendo en este medio siglo con muchísimo esfuerzo y activismo y aún así falta tanto por hacer que es más fácil volver a pisar el suelo de nuestro satélite que vivir en una democracia real, diversa e inclusiva.
