Tonterías, No Palíndromos...
Dentro de un rato serán, en tiempo civil peninsular (una hora después en Canarias, y en GMT) las 20:02 del 20 del 02 del 2002.
Ese minuto pasará más o menos como cualquier otro. De hecho, como tampoco tengo el reloj en hora del todo, posiblemente si quisiera celebrarlo me equivocaría.
Ello no quita para que ese momento "palindrómico" que le han llamado haya convertido un poco el día de hoy en un cúmulo de despropósitos. Copio un despacho de Reuters. Luego comento algo...
LONDON, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Two minutes past eight on
Wednesday night marks a millennial mathematical curiosity
with time and date forming a rare triple palindrome -- 20:02,
20/02/2002 -- reading the same backwards and forwards.
John Cremona, pure mathematics professor at Britain's
Nottingham University, said the last time that date and time
were aligned in this way was on the morning of November 11,
in the year 1111.
He said that the time, date and year would be palindromic
again in 110 years, at 12 minutes past nine in the evening of
December 21, 2112 -- or 21:12, 21/12/2112.
London School of Economics mathematics professor Bernhard
von Stengel said there would be many date-year palindromes in
the 21st century, but only in the month of February, the
second month "02", which flips into the year prefix "20".
Von Stengel said Wednesday's triple palindrome showed how
stimulating maths can be.
"I think it's a lot of fun. It's great, because it
encourages people to play with numbers," he said.
Israeli psychic Uri Geller planned to lead a day of
spiritual meditation on Wednesday to mark the occasion.
"The date 20/02/2002 is very, very rare. Palindromic
dates have always had very supernatural auras about them," he
told Reuters.
He urged his followers to think positively at four points
on Wednesday -- at 11:11 a.m., 13:11 p.m., 20:02 p.m. and
11:11 p.m. -- to encourage peace-building and personal
growth.
"For two to three minutes there will be a massive surge
of positive consciousness. It will be a moment to bring
healing, a moment to bring peace," he said.
Asked how he would co-ordinate the meditations of his
followers around the world, Geller said:
"I would appreciate everyone concentrating in GMT
(Greenwich Mean Time), but if you can't do that, take a
moment when you can... The message is be positive, be
optimistic and believe in yourself."
Pues eso, casi como para no decir más, porque es difícil igualar a ciertos matemáticos, economistas o magos convertidos en psíquicos más o menos demodés en ese viejo arte de aprovechar que por ahí pasaba el Pisuerga para tener su momento de tontería.
Lo más terrible de todo es pensar en esa persona que haya oído la noticia, y que se crea que puede pasar algo especial en esa especie de momento de conjunción numerológica, y que justo en ese momento le suceda algo notable. Con tantos millones de personas es difícil pensar que en ese momento a nadie le pase nada especial (eso sí que sería un verdadero fenómeno paranormal: el primer minuto tranquilo en la historia de la Humanidad -uy, esto da como para un cuento...). Así que tendremos por aquí y por allí a miles de personas que en efecto notaron ese momento de confluencia (¿confluencia de la tontería humana?) como algo que marcó su vida. Posiblemente nos lo contarán en las tontorrevistas del ramo, o incluso alguno relatará su tránsito en un intimity-show de esos que abundan.

PD. 20:02 20/02/2002 es triplemente "palindrómico" o "capicúa" (en sentido lato, obviamente). Pero eso de decir que no tendremos momentos igualmente llamativos de aquí a 112 años es un poco exagerado... Por ejemplo, podemos pensar en 20:02 10/01/2002 (este pasó, leyendo en plan español, el mes pasado y nadie dijo ni mú, salvo un colega mío de trabajo que es muy dado a darse cuenta de estas coincidencias). Por supuesto poniendo fechas de este año como 01/10 11/11 ó 21/12 también funciona...
