Del periódico, del Diario de Noticias, me escribieron el otro día: que si los columnistas/multipropiedad de la contraportada del diario nos animábamos a escribir un relato colectivo. A base de seguir lo que te dejaba el anterior. Y tirar hacia adelante. La única condición: 2500 caracteres como mucho y que comenzara por "Salió de la librería sin mirar hacia atrás...". (Lo cuentan
por aquí) Todo por el día del libro, de forma que el relato fuera, a doble página, el regalo de un diario lleno de consumo de la jornada, un texto que se sale de las normas. De todo. Me tocó, además, comenzar. Y salió esto:
I
SALIÓ DE LA LIBRERÍA SIN MIRAR HACIA ATRÁS no fuera a cruzarse su mirada con la de él. El problema es que tampoco miraba para adelante en ese momento de cruzar el zaguán, así que se dio de bruces con un enorme bulto que debía ser alguien entrando en la librería. Aunque no recordara demasiado bien las clases de física del instituto, eso de la conservación del impulso y la enorme injusticia de la mecánica hacia las moscas que chocan contra un tren, algo que siempre le venía a la cabeza cuando “la de Física”, una profesora anodina e intrínsecamente odiosa, intentaba que una clase que había decidido ya años antes que nada les iba a impedir disfrutar del mundo aprendiera algo de las leyes de Newton, sin conseguirlo, en ese momento, con la cara de su profesora en medio del mapa mental en el que había así conseguido eliminar la imagen de él apostado en el anaquel con los libros de autoayuda, además eso, caer en mirar esa parte abyecta del negocio editorial, y él precisamente, y hoy más precisamente aún, justo en ese momento todo el Universo se giró, es decir, ella misma, completamente pegada como una mosca al bulto que entraba en la libería y con él, o más exactamente debajo de él, cayó estrepitosamente en la enorme alfombra de coco artificial que cubría la entrada. Luego no vio nada.
No podía ver nada. Quizás tampoco sentía nada. El bulto de la entrada se la había llevado por delante y quizá las leyes de la física dudaron un momento entre hacer un choque completamente elástico, de manera que ella habría salido volando hacia atrás, justo para darse contra él, contra los libros de autoayuda y acaso contra ese enorme troquelado de un niño mago con gafas de pasta que abría la sección de literatura de éxito, o bien unir las masas y convertir el choque en uno completamente inelástico, como aquella difunta mosca contra el tren, que era sin duda la opción finalmente elegida. Y ambos estaban entrelazados en el suelo, ella en una situación más comprometida que risible, comenzando a notar en alguna parte de lo que era su universo en ese momento un destello de dolor que subía imparable creando una explosión en colores, un sonido espantoso que hacía vibrar todo, el espacio y el tiempo. Estaba viva, porque le dolía, y porque ahora mismo se había dado cuenta de que le era imposible respirar. Entonces el Universo le habló:
- ¿Lucía, eres tú?
