VERANO DEL 95
Hace 23 años la proporción de CO2 en nuestra atmósfera era de 360 partes por millón (ahora 407). En aquella época todavía mucha gente se permitía dudar del cambio climático y pocos usábamos una incipiente internet más dedicada a intercambiar información que a vender. Era otro mundo. Lo digo porque mucha gente ni recuerda aquello (o no lo vivió). Ese año tuve la suerte de ser parte de una aventura que propiciaba Miguel de la Quadra Salcedo, mi querido Miguel que nos dejaste hace dos años. Esa Ruta Quetzal que aquel año nos llevó por tierras de Ecuador y Perú, siguiendo los pasos de la expedición ilustrada que en 1736 había medido el grado de meridiano en aquellas tierras. De la mano de Miguel, de Jorge Juan, de Ulloa, de La Condamine, viajábamos cientos de personas de muchos países, de los cuales algunos éramos profesores, otras eran periodistas, como Montse Oliva, mi querida Montse que nos ha dejado ayer, quienes contaban esta expedición un poco a la manera de los cronistas de las antiguas, recuperando historia, vivencias y pasiones. También, como toda buena expedición, teníamos titiritaina y música de andar por ahí haciendo ruido, de la mano de Julio Michel, mi querido Julio que nos dejaste hace un año. Lo dicho, muchas personas que vivimos más de un mes subiendo y bajando nevados, cantando himnos patrios y hasta consiguiendo que la frontera entre dos países casi en guerra se abriera para dejar pasar la joven internacionalidad de la ruta. No podíamos salir de algo así sin afianzar una amistad a prueba del tiempo, tras haber compartido ese verano del 95 que tanto nos cambió. Luego la vida volvió a reunirnos muchas veces, a sorprendernos cómo cambiaba el mundo mientras el CO2 seguía subiendo sin que nadie hiciera nada. Y ahora, la muerte nos separa. Os echamos de menos, amigos. Mucho.
