Inteligencias Artificiales (#MILENIO @NoticiasNavarra)

Demasiados compromisos en estas semanas y la poca formalidad habitual han provocado que lleve 2 columnas del Diario de Noticias sin colocar por el blog. A ello vamos. Esta es la columna que publiqué el lunes 25 de marzo, aquí el enlace en la web del periódico: MILENIO, Diario de Noticias
El otro día volvía a escuchar al profesor Humberto Bustince hablando de la inteligencia artificial y del Big data, y cómo están cambiando nuestro mundo. Como es amigo y maestro, no le ofenderé halagándole, aunque lo merece y más por el trabajo que, como él y su equipo, hace la Universidad, aportando conocimiento en temas tan transformadores: las revoluciones actuales lo son en las ciencias y las tecnologías, pero tan rápidamente que la reflexión y la ética que necesitan quedan fácilmente postergadas a los intereses comerciales. Por eso necesitamos a quienes aporten la serenidad de la reflexión informada, porque es innegable que el mundo ya es otro y vivimos en ese flujo y mercado de los datos aunque no seamos conscientes, aunque no nos hayan educado o preparado para entender lo que está sucediendo. Asistimos como niños en una feria deslumbrados por los colorines, las maravillas, las voces de los vendendores de tómbola... y por debajo, detrás del oropel, están las realidades menos presentables, también la suciedad o el interés.
Nos acostumbramos rápidamente a asistentes digitales que nos simplifican la tarea y nos dan acceso a un mundo nuevo, a que los datos se integren para organizar nuestra vida. Pero queda afianzar la nueva revolución social: liberarnos del trabajo inhumano, el que pueden hacer máquinas y procesar algoritmos y dedicar el tiempo a mejorar el mundo injusto. En esto la inteligencia humana es la herramienta. Y ya está haciéndose: no todos los algoritmos intentan que compremos, que votemos o que permanezcamos viendo los anuncios: hay una ingeniería social tan necesaria como la inteligencia artificial. Y esa labor solamente la podemos hacer si nos damos cuenta de ello y empezamos a aprender a conducir en este nuevo mundo. De los coches y del tráfico que se encargue ello.
